DD: kicking off proceedings with the lovely "Saturated" by British singer/songwriter/producer Liz Lawrence.
BIIG PIIG "PERDIDA"
GC: Love it. I added in Perdida by Biig Piig. The two have different vibes, but both feature a female vocalist over a strong beat, and I feel like Perdida has a slower, more mellow version of Saturated’s snare drumbeat.
OTHERLiiNE "IINTERLUDE 1"
DD: Excellent choice, lovely super chilled vibes. I've gone with another artist & title that makes use of the double i, with the George Fitzgerald & Lil Silva collab OTHERLiiNE.
HUGO SANTINI & wielandwieland "QUIET NIGHT"
GC: Love that one! Added straight to the playlist. My favourite music across all genres has a lot of layers and texture and which ebb and flow over the span of the track, which this definitely has, and so does this song by French Brazilian artist Hugo Santini and wielandwieland.
TIMO MAAS "SHIFTER (FEAT MC CHICKABOO)"
DD: When the beat drops on that track it really reminds me of something else and I've been racking my brain all week trying to think what it is so I could add it next, but I still can't place it! 🤯 So I've given up and instead made the link from "Quiet" in the track title to Timo Maas' 2002 album "Loud", and an old favourite off that - "Shifter (feat MC Chickaboo)".
MC SOLAAR "CAROLINE"
GC: I’ve taken the MC from MC Chickaboo (and the double vowel) and added Caroline by MC Solaar, a French hip hop classic!
LUNA LI "CLOUD CASTLE"
DD: I've gone from Solaar to Luna with a lovely little instrumental jam.
ORION SUN "CONCRETE"
GC: Sticking with the planetary theme, I’ve added Orion Sun’s gorgeous Concrete.
JURASSIC 5 "CONCRETE SCHOOLYARD"
DD: Very good. Got to go with the Jurassic 5 classic next.
SLUM VILLAGE "HUSTLE"
GC: Matched those 90s American hip hop vibes with Hustle by Slum Village.
