Our Creative Director Dan picks a random track, our guest adds a track that they think of in response and explains the link, then they go back and forth for 10 tracks.

Track 1 - Richie Havens "Going Back To My Roots"

DD: Love the intro to this track.

Track 2 - Odyssey "Native New Yorker (40th Anniversary Mix)"

PM: Going back to my roots was covered by Odyssey, so I picked the 40th anniversary version of my favourite song by Odyssey “Native New Yorker”.

Track 3 - a-ha "Manhattan Skyline"

DD: I'm going for a New York-Manhattan link to a track that I loved as a kid. It's a great unconventional pop song that immediately takes me back every time I hear it. I can still see the little fold-out cassette sleeve now...

Track 4 - John Miles "Music"

PM: Okey dokey. I thought when I saw Manhattan skyline as a track name it was going to be the John Miles version. But anyway as he did a track called Manahattan skyline that's a link to his all time classic ‘Music'. He passed away last in December. One of my favourites.

Track 5 - µ-Ziq “The Fear”

DD: For my next pick I’ve jumped from Music to µ-Ziq (pronounced music), an experimental electronic artist, but this track veers more toward modern classical/Michael Nyman/Wim Mertens territory.

Track 6 - Greta Panettieri "Goodbye Stranger"

PM: Love the link. My favourite track is Goodbye Goodbye, so then chose a fantastic rendition of Supertramp's Goodbye Stranger by Greta Panettieri.

Track 7 - Sargasso Trio "Heels On Fire"

DD: The start of this immediately reminded me of a little-known old favourite called "Heels on fire" by Sargasso Trio.

Track 8 - KC & The Sunshine Band "Boogie Shoes"

PM: From heels to shoes, Boogie shoes appeals to my love of 70's disco. A classic from KC and the Sunshine Band.

Track 9 - Sound Experience "Boogie Woogie"

DD: 2 minutes of pure joy! And we've gone full circle from boots to shoes. For my last track I'll go from a disco boogie to a funk one.

Track 10 - Joey Negro "Must Be The Music - Disco Boogie Xtravaganza Dub"

PM: Must be the Music by Joey Negro, the Disco Boogie Xtravaganza mix. Just Love Joey Negro.
